With the book stamp (in numerous places) of Morris "Moe" Berg, a major league baseball catcher and coach (Robins, White Sox, Indians, Senators, Red Sox), who was also a spy in the OSS during WWII -- as well as being an accomplished linguist. Dark blue cloth with gilt to front and spine is generally aged, some wear at corners, spine tips starting to fray, bit cocked. Back cover has some light staining. Interior has Berg's stamps, quite a bit of pencil underlining and check marks/marginalia -- whether they belong to the illustrious Mr. Berg or not, we don't know. ; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
