xi + 316 pp. A pretty little collection of poetry -- some good, some bad -- from English poets writing about Italy. A handsome book in red cloth with gilt edges, but most notable (!!) for having the ownership signature of Tryphosa Bates-Batcheller, wealthy social climber, daughter of the founder of the Boston Library, and noted awful singer (one of her vanity recordings can still be found on Amazon). General wear to the covers, some rubbing, fading and age. Interior first fly has Tryphosa's signature (dated June 1912), with another hand's inscription in Italian, that page is quite foxed. Otherwise generally aged but unmarked and still sturdy. A nice little book with a fantastic signature.; 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" Tall
