The first 5 volumes of this famous and detailed set, covering the period 1807-1812 in the pivotal European war. Original dark red cloth with gilt are general worn, volume 1 has tape repairs to spine, library marks and numbers, tops and bottoms of spines are chipped and worn, joints cracking, corners bumped. Interior have normal library pockets and stamps, tissue guards very foxed, normal foxing throughout, vol. I first few leaves are detaching. Some maps are detached, a few maps are broken along the folds but most are in surprisingly nice condition, all are present. A handsome if aged set, with everything present.
