xvi + 196 + xxvi + corrigenda. 3 folding charts. In Latin. Oberleitner's updated Latin version of Jahn's seminal work on Aramaic in Chaldean-Syriac. Jahn was a prominent Orientalist and Biblical Scholar at the University of Vienna. Contemporary marbled boards with leather spine and corners, rubbed at all edges, spine tips dry and fraying, old spine label, spine gilt fairly bright and still legible. Old library stamp on title page and contemporary inscription, bright yellow endpapers (this may have been a very early library binding). Paper is sturdy but somewhat foxed. Page 11 has a 2" tear at the gutter top, not affecting text. Page 39/40 has a 4" x 1" lack at the fore-edge, not affecting text but the lack does go right up to the text border. Otherwise some dog-earing and small stains, but no writing or other marks. Binding is sturdy. A chance to own a remarkable piece of Biblical scholarship at a low price. ; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
