261-281 pp + 53 plates. In Chinese and English. Journal of Oriental Studies. A very hard to find catalogue of seals. The plates, on glossy paper, are quite lovely in red and black. The journal opens with 19 pages of Chinese, then there is a 2 page English summary. The plates with the seals have a brief English description at the bottom, with more extensive Chinese at each seal,. Then there are extracts of letter of Ch'en Fu-chai relating to the Shih-chung Shan-fang Illustrated Catalogue of Seals, all the letters are in Chinese. Dun linen/paper wraps show shelf wear and some age, paper spine chipping away, interior toned but clean, binding back strip starting to show but binding holding.; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall
