A collection of anti-Catholic and pro-Church of England tracts printed during the Restoration, at the end of Charles II's reign and beginning of James II. Some are closely trimmed. Occasional marks and a few dark marks in the text but in general clean. Opening original blank has a list of some of the tracts in a very spidery copperplate hand. A bit of browning to the page edges. Binding is sturdy. A nice collection of first edition tracts responding to the Bishop of Meaux, Bossuet, etc.and thundering against Popery. Heavy for shipping; 8vo 8" - 9" tall
