98 pp. Tucked into the book is 4 page Order of Exercises for the celebration held at the First Church in Hartford, January 24th, 1889, a business card of J. Hammond Trumbull, President of the Connecticut Historical Society and a number of letters written to Frank B. Gay, who was then the Recording Secretary of the C.H.S., dated 1889 having to do C.H.S. Letters are from Joseph Hopkins Twichell, the Harvard Historical Society, J.W. Perry (State Rep.), John W. Stedman (V.P. of CHS), N.H. Allen (?) and George Walker who appears to be the pastor of the First Church in Hartford, in addition to a few letters for which we cannot make out the signature. Blue cloth covers with gilt are a little rubbed at the corners, spine tips a little frayed. Interior title page is loose, otherwise firm and clean.
