Dark navy blue limp plastic binder with gilt is clean and nice, interior silver brads to hold pages, title page has small price sticker mark, one or two small notes in the text, otherwise pages clean and unmarked. This console was part of the Cold War DEW Line Radar Detection, as used in Greenland. "Communication Control Console AN/FSA-26 is the surveillance control and indication center of each DEW Line-Eastern Extension station... the AN/FSA-26 and its Associated Units are only part of the electronic equipment located at each DEW Line-Eastern Extension station. The main purpose of each station is to detect and identify airborne targets within range of the station radar. Data pertaining to detected targets is transmitted to Air Force center for further action. DEW Line-Eastern Estension is an early warning radar fence across Greenland....The console coordinates and distributes all received and transmitted information and provides audible/visual alarms to eliminate the need for constant monitoring by an operator. The console also contains instruments indicating existing weather conditions, alarms indicating equipment faults or failures, and an accurate time device."
