314 pp + xv. Extremely scarce, this was a Ph.D. dissertation in the Dept. of English for a degree conferred in June 1943. Includes bibliography and text references, as well as statistical tables. Scholarly tour de force analyzing all forms of the the strong verbs as they appeared in Old English, Chaucerian English and in the Southumbrian and Northern texts of the Mid XV Century or in Malory. Very difficult to find in the original. Blue paper wraps are a little faded at the edges, fc splitting away from the spine at the top edge, also reflected at the title page, but binding is strong. Back cover has small corner chip. Interior lightly toned but otherwise clean.; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
