Includes a wonderful excoriating attack on Sir Hudson Lowe, governor of St. Helena during Napoleon's exile. The book caused a sensation when first printed. Blue cloth covers, blindstamped, with gilt Napoleonic device on covers and on spine. Spines chipped and loosened at hinges.
