[xvi], 136 pp. A facisimile reprint of the 1680 original, including the original title page, nicely struck, type is clean and bright. Dark green cloth with brilliant gilt and black cloth spine with library tape at bottom. Interior has normal library marks, pocket removed with a small scar, otherwise clean and tight. Nice copy. Dalgarno was a linguist and phonetician at Oxford involved in the development of a universal language and the formation of a phonetic alphabet. He also pioneered the teaching of the deaf and dumb.
