The red leather corners and spine are a little faded and scuffed, red marbled hard paper covers a little faded, interior title page has some foxing, some foxing throughout, a few neat pencil marginalia by an old scholar, otherwise tight and clean.Entirely in Latin, written by Jacob, a classical scholar who also translated Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey into Latin.Very scarce. While there are print-on-demand copies of this edition available, this is the only original 1821 first edition we have been able to find anywhere for sale. It is marked as Volume I but it is the only part that Jacobs ever finished…no Vol. II was forthcoming.; 8vo 8" - 9" tall
