Pauli, aliarumque septem Catholicarum epistolarum editio ad Athanasium Juniorem Episc. Alexandr. Lorenzo Alessandro Zaccagni (1652 -1712) was an Italian librarian and Patristic scholar and author. His main contribution is a collection of texts relating to early controversies in Christianity, Collectanea monumentorum veterum Ecclesiæ græcæ et latinæ, published by the Vatican in 1698. He was the first to unearth the works of Euthalius, which had lain in oblivion in the Vatican archives. He also published Atti di Archelao by Hegemonius, a very scarce 4th century Gnostic work, as well as works by Gregory of Nyssa and Ephraim of Syria. Apparently more than one volume had been planned but Zaccagni only produced this one, and this is the only edition until the modern POD infestation. A handsome and very usable volume. HEAVY; 4to 11" - 13" tall
