Original cloth covers are rubbed at the edges and worn, library tape to the soine, gilt top edges.Interior the hinges were reinforced long ago, quite well. Old library stamp on inside front cover, end papers browned. Title page has a library stamo and some thumbing at the bottom edge, occasisonal thumbing throughout, interior is otherwise clean and unmarked. Magnificent color fronti plate, other plates and illustrations are similarly fine. Exterior worn, interior good, a still quite pleasing copy of a lovely and important book. Very heavy. An elegant and beautifully illustrated folio volume dealing with the theory and practice of civic artand emphasizing the importance of landscape architecture. For examples of public parks and town gardens he illustrates the Hague, Palace of Peace; Pittencrieff Park and Glen; Southport Improvement Scheme; Hanley Public Park, Cleethorpes Recreation Ground, and Lever Park, Bolton. Examples of town planning include Dunfermline, Bolton, Perth, Port Sunlight and Glyn-Cory, a model village in Wales. Thomas H.
