Xvi, 492 pp. 3/4 leather with dark blue marbled boards. The leather is scuffed and very worn, boards are scuffed and worn, spine covering is mostly perished and boards are secured with shiny brown tape. The same tape is also used at the gutter on the top margin of the verso of the title and the first page of the preface. Occasional light check marks, otherwise clean and unmarked. A few pages have turned down corners and there is some moderate foxing throughout. But while the exterior is quite worn, the interior is still usable and surprisingly clean. Priced low to reflect condition. Very scarce first edition of this biography of Walker (1714-1761) , an Evangelical clergyman of the Church of England in Cornwall. He corresponded frequently with Wesley over matters of theology and practical church matters, as well. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 492 pages
