262 pp. A tall octavo. Beautiful engraved plates with printed tissue guards. Original dark red cloth with black impressed image of Constantinople on the front cover. Small bumps to the front cover, little rubbing at the corners, spine very lightly sunned with bright gilt titles, spine tips just a little worn, top edge gilded. Interior has book plate of Julius Wangenheim (1866-1942) , a California banker, civic leader and bibliophile. Facing first free endpaper has a ghosted image of the plate, endpapers a little foxed, otherwise clean and unmarked. A very pretty book with rough cut edges and lovely paper, wide margins. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 262 pages
